Associate lecturer will join 1970s krautrock legend on stage.

Dr Tim Wright will join Damo Suzuki on stage at the Crescent Venue in York this Sunday evening, 13 May.

Suzuki was vocalist for legendary 1970s krautrock band Can, recording vocals for their albums Ege Bam Yasi and Tego Mago. Wright (synth bass) will be joined by Ola Szmidt (vocals and flute), Martell James (drums), Dave Potter (synths) and Mark Peters (guitar). Mark’s recent record, Innerland, was Rough Trade’s album of the week in April 2018.

Despite his recent struggle with colon cancer Suzuki continues to tour the world improvising with musicians (or sound carriers) that become members of Damo Suzuki’s Network.

Tim Wright is an Associate Lecturer in the Department, teaching on the Music Production (MA) and Music and Sound Recording (BA) programmes.
