Suckling performed alongside Mozart and Beethoven

Originally commissioned by the London Sinfonietta in 2011 and receiving widespread critical acclaim at its premiere, Candlebird, a poignant song-cycle for baritone and ensemble setting texts by Scottish poet Don Paterson was performed by Mark Stone with the Aurora Orchestra under conductor Nicholas Collon at King's Place, London on 7 April and will be broadcast on BBC Radio 3 In Concert on 16 April at 7.30pm.

The concert also features Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 16 with pianist Charles Owen and Beethoven's Fourth Symphony and will be available online for 30 days after broadcast.

The revival of Candlebird was supported by the PRS Foundation's Resonate scheme, supporting the best UK orchestral music of the last 25 years.
