Nicola LeFanu - BBC Symphony Orchestra world premiere

The Crimson Bird premieres at the Barbican, London, 17 February.

At 7.30pm on Friday 17 February 2017, a new musical work by Emeritus Professor Nicola LeFanu entitled The Crimson Bird – with a text by John Fuller – will be premiered at the Barbican, London. Soprano Rachel Nicholls will perform the work with the BBC Symphony Orchestra conducted by Ilan Volkov. This commission was made possible by the award of the Royal Philharmonic Society Elgar Bursary.

The concert will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3.
