I Fagiolini and Robert Hollingworth release new Decca project, Amuse-Bouche

Posted on 7 April 2016

Department ensemble-in-association, I Fagiolini, directed by Robert Hollingworth, have released a new recording on the Decca label.

Amuse-Bouche is a collection of 20th century French music including two recorded world premieres: Jean Francaix's 'Ode a la gastronomie' (the UK premiere of which was given by Department ensemble, The 24 in 2014) and Milhaud's 'Deux poemes' (1919). Eight current students and recent alumni joined I Fagiolini for the recording of Daniel-Lesur's 'Le cantique des cantiques' (1953). As well as the CD release, I Fagiolini has made an 18-minute film to dramatise Francaix's Ode, also featuring two department students.
