Peter Seymour plays live on BBC Radio 3's In Tune

Posted on 5 November 2014

Peter Seymour (harpsichord) performs live on BBC Radio 3 ‘In Tune’ (16.30-18.30) on Monday 10 November with Lucy Russell (violin). They will be performing two of Vivaldi’s ‘Manchester’ sonatas; the manuscripts of these are part of the Henry Watson Music collection at Manchester Central Library. The Library has recently been refurbished and the BBC programme marks the re-opening.

Lucy, a former undergraduate and Masters student in this Department, is a regular visitor to York both as leader of Yorkshire Baroque Soloists and the Fitzwilliam String Quartet. On the following Wednesday (12 November) Lucy and Peter will be joined in concert by Rachel Podger (violin) and Rachel Gray (cello) – also a York graduate. They will perform a programme of solo and trio sonatas by JS and CPE Bach followed by a violin and fortepiano sonata by Mozart, Haydn’s ‘Gypsy Rondo’ Trio and a keyboard Concerto by Haydn.
