Peter Seymour and postgraduates contribute to European Day of Early Music

Posted on 25 March 2014

Professor Peter Seymour and two of postgraduates - Jennifer Cohen and Ian Hoggart - appeared (also with Bethany Seymour) in a programme of Handel, Purcell, Uccellini, Blavet and Bach at the National Centre for Early Music. The concert was NCEM's contribution to the European Day of Early Music celebrating JS Bach's birthday.

The NCEM is a member of the European Early Music Network - REMA: Réseau Européen de Musique Ancienne.

Based in France, the Network currently embraces 62 early music festivals/organisations across Europe, with the National Centre for Early Music in York and the European Union Baroque Orchestra representing the UK.

On 21 March each year, festivals across the community celebrate JS Bach's birthday - and the first day of spring - with a pan-European series of early music concerts.

You can listen to a recording of the performance presented at the NCEM on 21 March 2014.
