Signum Records also released Yorkshire Baroque Soloists' recording of Bach - St John Passion (SIGCD209), conducted by Peter Seymour, in August 2010. Musicwebinternational wrote: 'Yorkshire is the home of the York Early Music Festival, of the excellent York University Music Department, and of the Yorkshire Baroque Soloists..a coherent, articulate and engaging performance that balances well the work's twin identities as narrative and contemplation.' Yorkshire Post commented: 'York University's reputation for music grows by the year and listening to this CD it's not hard to discern why. Professor Peter Seymour, who founded the Yorkshire Baroque Soloists, is a scholar whose keen eye for performance practice is demonstrated in this impressive recording.'
