Research Seminar: Creative Health: Researching STROKESTRA

Elaine King is Reader in Music at the University of Hull. Her research interests are in performance studies and music psychology. She has published four co-edited volumes as part of the Ashgate/Routledge SEMPRE Series in the Psychology of Music: Music and Gesture (2006), New Perspectives on Music and Gesture (2011), Music and Familiarity (2013) and Music and Empathy (2017). She is Associate Editor of Psychology of Music, Action Editor for Music and Science, and a member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of the Royal Musical Association. Her talk on 'Creative Health: Researching STROKESTRA' will provide insight into current policies on research in arts, health and wellbeing as well as detail the parameters of the STROKESTRA project, which investigates the effectiveness of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra‚Äôs stroke rehabilitation programme.
