This week's Musical Figure is Ruth Lee. Ruth graduated from York in 2019. She recently performed her composition 'Dyr'at Edinburgh Harp Fest and has been chosen as one of the four UK Harp Association Emerging Artists for 2020/21. Ruth will also feature in World Harp Congress 2021! Find out more about Ruth.
Meet this week's Musical Figure, bass-baritone Stuart O'Hara. Stuart completed his MA in Solo Voice Ensemble Singing at the University under Robert Hollingworth. Previously Lay Clerk at Liverpool Meteropolitan Cathedral and Bass Songman at York Minster, Stuart recently started a new role as Lay Vicar at Choir of Westminster Abbey.
Meet this week's Musical Figure, musicologist Samantha Ege. Samantha has just finished working on her PhD on the African-American composer Florence Price at York and next year, Samantha will be joining the University of Oxford as the Lord Crewe Fellow in Music at Lincoln College!
Meet this week’s Musical Figure: Josh Madine! Since graduating from the University Josh has embarked on a career as a producer and singer-songwriter under the alias Almanac. Drawing on elements of folk, funk, jazz and choral music, his music has a truly unique soundworld.
