Book Prize Success for Dr Michele Campopiano

Posted on 13 January 2022

Warm congratulations to Michele Campopiano, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of English and Related Literature, who has been awarded the 2021 San Francesco Prize for his recent monograph, Writing the Holy Land: the Franciscans of Mount Zion and the Construction of a Cultural Memory, 1300-1550.

The San Francesco Prize is awarded by the Pontifical Antonianum University every two years, with the aim of promoting research in the fields of law, philosophy, and theology. Michele's book is a groundbreaking study, which shows how the Franciscans in Jerusalem in the fourteenth to sixteenth centuries wrote works which standardized the cultural memory of the Holy Land.
