I joined the Mathematics Department at the University of York in September 2017. Previously, I held post-doctoral positions at the University of British Columbia, Canada (2012-2014), Oxford University, UK (2015-2016) and Utrecht University, Netherlands (2016-2017). I obtained my PhD here in York in 2012.

My research is in the mathematical foundations of quantum mechanics, where I seek to understand better the relationship between the mathematical formalism of quantum theory and the world that theory is supposed to describe. This takes various strands: the relationship between classical and quantum, the role and meaning of symmetry and reference frames in quantum mechanics, quantum contextuality and the logical structure of quantum computation.
