Topics in Geometric Semigroup Theory

Wednesday 17 June 2020, 9.00AM to 19 June 2020

The aim of the workshop is to give an accessible exposition of the recent developments regarding geometric methods in semigroup theory, as well as some of the interplay between semigroups, geometric group theory and C*-algebras. Topics include quasi-isometry invariants and geometric properties of Cayley graphs, reflection monoids, amenability of semigroups and connections to C*-algebras, self-similar groups and their connections to semigroups and C*-algebras.
