Studying on our MSc in International Business provides you with the chance to look in-depth at the factors that shape the international business environment and how corporations respond to these challenges. During this programme of study, you will also have the chance to develop your skills in critical analysis, information processing and data presentation. Subject material is studied in an international context to prepare graduates for the global economy in which organisations operate.

The programme is suitable for applicants from a wide range of backgrounds, including those with no previous business studies. Upon completing this programme, you will not only be prepared for a range of careers in international business and management, you will also have the skills and outlook necessary to thrive in an increasingly interconnected global workplace.

Entry Requirements

What you'll need

Applicants should have a good first degree (2:1 or equivalent) in any subject, although preference may be given to related areas including the following:

  • Management or Business Studies
  • Economics
  • Finance or Accounting
  • Any social science

Applications will also be considered from candidates with a good 2:2 (or equivalent) and at least one to two years relevant work experience.

For students whose first language is not English, we normally require evidence of English language ability.

English Language requirements

Applicants for whom English is not their first language should provide evidence of English language competence.

Acceptable qualifications for Managment Master programmes are: IELTS: with overall score of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.5 in Writing and 6.0 in other components. TOEFL: 87, with a minimum of 23 in Writing and a minimum of 21 in all other components.

Applicants with an IELTS overall result of 6.0 and a 6.0 in the writing part of the test can take the University’s Pre-Masters Management English Language programme. This programme provides spoken and written skills development in specific subject areas, as well as preparation for Postgraduate level study in a UK environment.

Do I need to submit a sample of written work with my application?

You are not required to submit a piece of written work with your application for the MA in Management Masters programme.


If I have done my final year at an English-speaking University, do I still have to meet English language requirements?

If your prior study is from a UK University within the last two years, or the medium of instruction at your home University was English,* or you have sufficient experience of using English on a daily basis in a work environment* then you may be eligible for a language waiver.

* Please note; for the last two examples we would require further proof / evidence.

Do you run a pre-Sessional course for English language to comply with your entry criteria?

Can I work during my studies?

The MSc in International Business programme is a full-time one year (12 months) taught course.  Students can take on occasional evening jobs, but attendance on the course is a priority.


Is there accommodation on Campus for Masters students?

Yes: there is accommodation available for students on postgraduate taught programmes.  Further information can be found on the Postgraduate Accommodation webpages

Can I submit an application now, even though I will not complete my Undergraduate degree until the Summer?

Yes: we encourage you to apply as soon as you can, with a most recent transcript, and any further documents can be added to your online application when available.
