Profile

Biography

Dr Matthias Hambach joined the School for Business and Society in November 2014 as a lecturer in Accounting. He gained a doctorate at the University of York researching the transformation and decline of Bradford and Bingley Building Society. He holds an MRes degree in Account and Finance (Lancaster,UK), a Master of Professional Accounting degree (Seattle University, USA), and a BSc degree in International Economics and Finance (Tilburg University, Netherlands). 

Matthias has significant experience in the delivery and administration of learning and teaching activities and programmes.

He is a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (HEA) and a Certified Management and Business Educator. He also volunteers as a Governor for the German Saturday School.

Research

Overview

Matt’s main research interests are in the areas of corporate governance, in particular the composition of the board of directors and their decision-making processes. He is also interested in business history.
