I originally studied an undergraduate degree in mathematics. Upon completion of my undergraduate studies I became more interest in ‘operations research‘ based mathematics and went on to study a master’s degree in mathematical modelling. I then decided to go into teaching and completed a PGCE in mathematics. During my early teaching years I gained a great deal of experience delivering a wide range of mathematical based modules on courses from engineering, computing and management disciplines.
In 2000 I joined the Business School at University of Sunderland, as senior lecturer in quantitative methods, where I designed and delivered a variety of mathematical, statistical and operational research type modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
I joined the University of York in 2010, as a senior teaching fellow in mathematics and statistics.
