I studied Jurisprudence at university and then followed a professional career in the financial services qualifying as a Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of the Institute of Taxation.
In 1992 I joined the HE sector and have had various positions. In the late 1990s I was seconded to work for the Know How Fund and worked in Kiev as an advisor at the Ukrainian central bank. I currently work at the Liverpool Business School.
I am Chair and Board member of a number of charities/third sector organisations and chair a company engaged in international shipping insurance brokerage. I am a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and the Royal Society of Arts.
