Research topic: The development of firms' strategies within emerging business ecosystem contexts

Research interests: Business ecosystems are an ever growing phenomenon that is facilitated by increasing digitization and modularity. In my research I am interested to explore how firms develop their strategies particularly within emerging ecosystem contexts.

Profile

Lara completed her part-time B.A. Business Administration degree at the FOM, a German University particularly designed for students who simultaneously work full-time. During the time of her studies Lara also graduated from her vocational training and was honoured as the highest achieving Management trainee in Germany.

Following a year of working full-time as a process manager after completing her studies Lara won a scholarship by the “German Academic Exchange Agency” to study the MSc. International Business and Strategic Management at the University of York. She graduated from the degree as the Highest achieving student of her cohort.

Between completing the Msc. and returning for her doctoral studies in 2019 she worked as a project manager for a stock-listed (DAX30) engineering company in Germany. In her role she was involved in setting up the organisation's shared services unit from scratch.

In her doctoral research Lara is interested to explore how firms develop their strategy and capabilities to operate in emerging inter-organisational ecosystem contexts. During her time as a PhD student she has also been working as a Graduate Teaching assistant across several undergraduate modules.
