Professor Freeman's team, which includes academic colleagues from York, Leeds, LSE, Hamburg, Potzdam and Heidelberg, has experience of surveying the extent of expert disagreement on matters of intergenerational fairness and creating social discount rates that reflect it. This work has influenced guidance issued by HM Treasury and other European finance ministries, the Office for National Statistics, the OECD, and a range of other international governmental organisations.
