Management School undergraduate is worth it!
York Management School success at the Undergraduate of the Year Awards
The York Management School is pleased to announce that Lewis McDowell (BA (Hons) Management), one of our three students in the top 10 of the Target Jobs Undergraduate of the Year Awards for 2016, has won L’Oréal’s Male Undergraduate of the Year Award.
Lewis will now have the opportunity to experience a challenging twelve month placement in L’Oréal’s Marketing team including a week in L’Oréal’s Paris Headquarters and two days shadowing L’Oréal’s senior management committee members.
Bronte Wright (BSc (Hons) Accounting, Business Finance and Management) and Conor Virdee (BA (Hons) Business and Management) did themselves and the School proud reaching the top 10 in the country in Enterprise Rent a Car’s Management of the Year Award.
The Awards Ceremony was a spectacular event held at East Wintergarden in Canary Wharf, London. Hosted by Fiona Bruce who added humour and great careers advice to the finalists, the day was filled with fantastic students from the country’s best universities who have gone above and beyond their studies and who have promising and bright futures ahead of them. The event was truly inspirational.
We would like to thank Target Jobs and all the employers who sponsored the 12 Awards for an excellent initiative and event.
Target Jobs Undergraduate of the Year Awards encompasses a big part of what we are about here in the York Management School – delivering research led, quality degree programmes and providing a big emphasis on a student’s employability aiming to develop entrepreneurial and highly employable graduates who go on to rewarding careers. The School has recently increased our employability support for our students with now two Placement Coordinators (Nicola Clemmit and Charlie King) and our own Careers & Employability Advisor (Sally Raby) dedicated to Management students.
We are looking forward to support Target Jobs Undergraduate of the Year Awards again next year and we are looking forward to more success from our aspiring students.
