Dame Fiona Kendrick guides York students
CEO of Nestle UK & Ireland addressed over 200 York students on Tuesday 13th October at The York Management School.
Dame Fiona Kendrick became Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Nestlé UK and Ireland in 2012, having joined Nestlé UK in 1980 in the commercial area. Fiona is now responsible for a turnover of around £2.4 billion and around 8,000 people across 20 sites. Furthermore Dame Fiona is President of the UK Food and Drinks Federation.
Dame Fiona Kendrick delivered a motivating talk on her career, which started in teaching and quickly changed direction into the commercial world. She also talked about Nestle and her top tips for York students to excel in their chosen fields. Encouraging students to start their employability journeys as soon as possible with the aim of finding a job they love. Top tips included engaging in work experience, taking advantage of internships and placement years, showing initiative and preparing “killer questions” for interviews to make sure they stand out from the crowd.
Fiona‘s enthusiasm for student employability and progression was abundant and left over 200 York students motivated to follow their passion and realise their potential.
