York Business Conference
With Lord Stuart Rose as the main speaker, the focus this year will be on York’s economic resilience and rebuilding the Northern economy, bringing together delegates from across York and beyond to celebrate business in York. The conference will be a key event within Global Entrepreneurship Week in York.
The conference will include a welcome speech by Kersten England, Chief Executive of City of York Council. This will be followed by presentations from David Kerfoot MBE, York, North Yorkshire and East Riding Local Enterprise Partnership (YNYER LEP) Deputy Chair and Roger Marsh, Leeds City Region Local Enterprise Partnership Chair (LCR LEP). They will be discussing the thinking behind the LEP targets, what York brings to these plans and how York can benefit.
A panel discussion and Q&A session will be chaired by David Parkin, BusinessDesk.com. The panel will consist of Shaun Watts, YNYER LEP Board Member, David Kerfoot MBE, Roger Marsh, Tim Finnigan from Quorn, Cherie Federico from Aesthetica Magazine and BAFTA Qualifying Aesthetica Short Film Festival and Di Burton from Cicada Communications. The panel will be discussing York's resilient economy and opportunities for the future.
The main event of the conference will be an interview with Lord Stuart Rose by Martin Vander Weyer, Business Editor for The Spectator, who will be discussing ideas around rebalancing the Northern economy and opportunities for entrepreneurs. There will also be a Q&A session with Lord Rose and Martin Vander Weyer.
