Yesterday, in her Risk Management Masterclass entitled: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly and The Uncertain in Risk Management, Professor Margaret Woods of Aston Business School used a range of case studies to review the current approaches to risk management and included examples from both the private and public sectors that cover everything from worst to best practice.

These thought provoking examples illustrated that the quality of risk management is reflected in an organisation’s long term performance and that organisations need to be aware of creating a risk management façade that may ultimately lead them into a crisis situtation.   The conclusion being that monitoring and understanding of best practice is of critical importance.
