Rolls Royce Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Masterclass
Led by Trevor Orman, Director of Quality, BPI and IT, a Lean Manufacturing Masterclass was given to York Management School masters students on the 9th February in the Boardroom of the new Law and Management Building.
Trevor joined Rolls-Royce in October 2001 as Director, Operations in Civil Aerospace. In August 2007 he was appointed Executive Vice-President, Supply Chain Transformation in Purchasing. He returned to join the Executive team in Civil in August 2008 as Director, Quality, BPI and IT.
Using different techniques to engage the students Trevor, supported by a colleague from Rolls Royce, covered topics such as lean, six sigma and manufacturing. Using a lean game and virtual video tour of Rolls Royce’s new factory in Singapore, Trevor really brought the subject to life for the students.
Trevor, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Management Accountants, has a Masters in Business Administration and is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and Ireland (UKI), has also held numerous positions within General Motors Corporation/Vauxhall Motors Ltd in a career spanning 25 years.
