Monday 3 October 2022, 7.00PM to 9:00pm
Speaker(s): Ross McIntire MA PhD
Saints and the cults around them were an integral part of medieval life, and our most direct sources for their lives and afterlives come from the rich library of Vitae, or Lives of the saints. Filled with strange miracles, snippets of medieval life, and models for proper conduct, they are a rewarding, if deceptively complex, genre of literature. This course will provide the context, methods, and perspective necessary to get the most out of these extraordinary texts in translation.
