Thursday 27 January 2022, 10.00AM to 12noon
Speaker(s): Fiona Fitzgerald BA MA PGCE
The arts after World War Two resonate with significant changes in the nature of Britain, with the dismantling of the Empire, the advent of the Welfare State and the growth of a global consumer society. The course will explore the widespread acceptance of Modernism across the arts, the gradually increasing roles of women artists within, and the continued exclusion of artists of colour from the mainstream. It will end with charting the Turner Prize and the establishment of Tate Modern.
This course will be delivered via Zoom. Students joining the course will need access to a computer, laptop or tablet with a microphone (essential) and a webcam (desirable) as well as a reliable broadband connection.
