The St William Window at York Minster: Art and Iconography

York Minster preserves the largest single collection of medieval stained and painted glass in Britain. Among its treasures, the ninety-five square panels of the St William Window offer a wide range of iconographical content and artistic excellence and provide a means to study the medieval world. This course will study the art and iconography of the St William Window, focusing on the story narrated by the panels and the techniques used in their execution.
