Saturday 15 May 2021, 2.00PM to 5.00pm

Speaker(s): Alice Bennett BA MA MPhil MA

War, plague, floods and famine - Medieval Europe dealt with a lot. Events like the Battle of Agincourt, The Black Death and The Peasants’ Revolt still feature in collective memory, but what was the reality of living through such large scale traumatic events? This course offers an introduction to the disasters suffered in later Middle Age Europe, as seen through contemporary records and considers the experience and understanding of these events for the people of the time.
