Exploring the Landscapes of Yorkshire

Saturday 19 June 2021, 2.00PM to 5.00pm

Speaker(s): Liam Herringshaw BSc PhD FHEA

From dales and moors to vales and shores, the landscape of Yorkshire is diverse and splendid. In this half-day class, we’ll look at the geology and geography beneath the historic county. Why are there limestone pavements in the Yorkshire Dales? What is Millstone Grit? And why is Holderness the fastest-eroding coastline in Europe?

This is a partner class to ‘Exploring the Landscape of York’. No geological or geographical qualifications are required, just an interest in the landscape.
