Current Topics in Biology: Sustainable Food

This course will introduce you to current problems and limitations in food production and potential solutions offered by biology. It will cover the use of land, fertiliser and pesticides in agriculture and explore ways in which existing biological systems can be used to promote sustainable farming systems. You will also have the opportunity to learn about high-tech solutions in plant biotechnology such as the use of genetically-engineered organisms. No prior knowledge is required.
