What actually goes on behind the scenes of a museum? How are stories told? Collections assembled? Present needs balanced against future plans? This one-day course is for those who love museums and would like to know a little more about their history, their function, and their place in society. Scholars and museum workers will offer insights into the history of museums, their changing forms and functions over time, and how they meet the challenges of new audiences and agendas.
Tutors: Sarah Betts MA, Oliver Betts PhD and Sophie Vohra MA
