Gender and Work Through the Ages (c.1300-c.2000)

Wednesday 22 January 2020, 7.00PM to 9.00pm

What made certain types of work better suited for a man or a woman? How has this changed from the Middle Ages to present day? This course will look at these questions and many more to create a broad overview of the ever-evolving relationship between gender and work. We will use Yorkshire as a point of reference, delving into local archival material in order to enhance our understanding of men and women at work throughout history.
