Troy and the Mycenaean World (second cohort)

Saturday 23 November 2019, 10.00AM to 4.30pm

Join an archaeologist for an engaging day complementing the British Museum’s ‘Troy’ winter 2019/20 exhibition. Discover the Homeric epic legend of the siege of Bronze Age Troy and explore how the ancient Greeks filled their poems, stories and dramas with additional myth and reflection. But how much of all this was really true? We will examine the archaeology of Troy, and then turn to Rome, which used the stories of Troy in a truly unique and remarkable way.
