Valuing Health: Where Does Economics Come in?

Saturday 24 March 2018, 10.00AM4.30pm

Enrol and pay online

This course will look at the economic aspects of the work of the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE) in its role of providing recommendations to the National Health Service under constrained budgets, competing needs and ethical concerns. We will then move internationally to show how some of the same economic tools are used to assess resource-limited health interventions in developing countries. Common to both examples are the role and influence of the international pharmaceutical companies in the health market.
