Why do some people kill other people? Are they mad, bad, or otherwise normal individuals caught-up in a particular situation, which leads them to committing murder? Is it the fault of the individual (his/her biological or psychological make-up) or society (for example, inequality, abuse, or gun-ownership)? On this course we will introduce some of the ideas from the various disciplines which attempt to answer these questions. Specific cases from the past and present will be inspected using these ideas.
