Monday 22 January 2018, 1.00PM to 3.00pm

Enrol and pay online

What makes someone a saint? What do we understand by ‘theologies of sanctity’? What was the significance of shrines? These are some of the questions which will be considered on this course by exploring the lives and theological legacy of saints such as Aelred of Rievaulx, Hilda of Whitby, John of Beverley, John of Bridlington and William of York amongst others. We shall look at contemporary accounts of these saints as well as considering places of pilgrimage associated with them.
