Come take a ‘day trip’ to Paris! Explore the French capital’s epic history from its foundation as a provincial Roman city to its present-day status as cultural capital of the world. This course will focus on the city’s magnificent art and architecture, tracing its history through sites such as Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Louvre, the Bastille, the Eiffel Tower, and Centre Pompidou. It will consider Paris as a global centre throughout its history and how this has impacted on the city’s identity today.
