Saturday 17 March 2018, 10.00AM to 4.30pm

Enrol and pay online

In the last years, Syria has become increasingly well-known for the civil war that infuriates in the country and the destruction of its artistic heritage. In order to pay a tribute to Damascus and its multi-layered history, this one-day course will focus on the development of Islamic art and architecture in the city. Damascus was the first capital of the Islamic world and was ruled by the powerful Umayyads (661-750), great patrons of the arts and founders of the Great Mosque (706-15).
