Embark on a journey from New York City to London and discover the development of modernism from 1870-1950. American and British art share exciting parallels, interactions and total deviations. This course will examine themes of the metropolis versus the countryside, abstraction and realism, the emergence of avant-garde circles and the impacts of war. You will be able to expand upon your knowledge of twentieth-century giants - Georgia O’Keeffe, Jackson Pollock, Vanessa Bell and Paul Nash - and also learn about obscure artists.
