Historic objects, whether in historic houses, archives, museums or private collections, are an integral part of our national and cultural identity. Affected by changes in politics, fashion, ownership, and religious turmoil, they are at risk of damage - not only through human intervention but also by environmental and biological deterioration. This lecture will explore the key agents of deterioration threatening collections and the conservation methods through which they can be cared for, and preserved, for future generations.
