Saturday 18 November 2017, 10.00AM to 4.30pm

John Herschel coined the word photograph in 1839, based on the Greek meaning ‘drawing with light’. Often unique objects, photographs are powerful in many ways frequently capturing the personal memories of their owners. In this course students will develop a practical understanding of how to care for pre-digital photographs. It will give a brief introduction to the most common historical photographic processes and consider methods through which they can care for and preserve this fragile medium.
