Although the Library buildings remain open for essential use, we know that many of you aren’t able to come to campus and miss the experience of studying in the Library. That’s why we’ve set up Library Home From Home Live: online study rooms where you can work with other students around you. It’s not quite the same as absorbing all that knowledge from the books, but it’s the next best thing!
We’re running four sessions in the Spring Term as a trial, and plan to hold more next term if they’re popular. Read more about how it works and find the link to the sessions on the Library Home From Home Live web page. Make sure to read the code of conduct so you know what to expect in a session.
You’ll need a University of York Zoom account to join the session. That’s so we can make sure the rooms are secure. If you haven’t set up an account already you might like to do that now to save you time joining on the day. You’ll find instructions on setting up your Zoom account on the IT Services website.
Why not complete the Library experience by ordering some books? If you need access to the Library’s printed books but can’t make it to campus, you can use our Book Takeaway service to request a postal loan or chapter scan. Read about the service on our Book Takeaway web page.
