Library and Archives staff working from home - Tuesday 17 March

Posted on 17 March 2020

Today, Tuesday 17 March, the majority of our Library and Archives staff are working from home for the day. This is an exercise to test our readiness in the event of a large number of staff having to work from home due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

We are treating this as a normal working day as much as we can. The Library buildings on Campus West and King’s Manor are open but with a reduced staff presence. The Borthwick Institute for Archives is closed, including microfilm access, so we can practice delivering archives services remotely. Users of the Library are encouraged to ask questions or report any issues via our online chat service, email ( or phone (01904 32 3838).

We appreciate your patience and cooperation whilst we conduct this exercise, and we apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause.

If you have any questions please email or you can call (01904 32) 3838.
