To make things easier over the vacation, when far fewer people than normal will be using our library buildings, bookings for study space won’t be required.
The last date of bookable study rooms will be Friday 18 December. From Saturday 19 December until Monday 4 January you won’t need to reserve a space.
From Saturday 19 December, the main campus library buildings will remain open but will have reduced staffing and services: during this time we will not be operating a help desk service. We will be open for study space for members of the University, for self-service printing and scanning, and for library members to borrow and return items using the self-service points.
You are welcome to return books by post during this time. There may be delays in processing these, so items may not be removed from your account until the start of term - but don’t worry, no overdue charges will be applied. Any recalled items requested during this time will not be due back until Monday 4 January 2021 at the earliest.
Requests for our book delivery service between sites need to be placed before midday on Thursday 17 December, to be included in the last inter-site delivery on Friday 18 December. For takeaway requests via our postal loan, scan and send or campus deliveries services we will make our best endeavours to supply these items if requested before 9 December. Any requests placed after the above dates may not be processed or supplied until 4 January 2021 at the earliest.
