Find your space

Posted on 21 January 2019

The Library and IT rooms get busy at this time of year. But help is available when you need to find a space.

During term time, Library staff regularly check available spaces throughout the three University Library buildings (Morrell, Fairhurst and Burton). Each area is rated red, amber or green, depending on how busy it is. This information is displayed on the screens around the Library, and is also available on the web.

Before you choose your space, think about how you like to work; the Library has different behaviour zones - silent, quiet and studious buzz - to suit different study styles. Find your perfect fit:

Remember to respect the guidance on behaviour in the Library, and try not to interrupt those working around you. If your work is disturbed by other people, let Library staff know with a text to 07919 293133 or a message on our chat service:

If you want to study in an IT room, you can check online which rooms are booked for teaching, and how many PCs are available in each room:

You don't have to study in the Library - there are other study spaces available across campus; some of them might be closer to where you need to be. During the summer exam period, extra spaces will be made available where you can revise:
