Extra study spaces in Morrell

Posted on 13 September 2017

We know that it can be hard to find a Library seat when it's busy, so we've added 50 new study spaces.

Over the summer we moved some lower-use journals into our Compact Store, which gave us the space to create 50 additional study spaces on the 1st floor of the Morrell building in a quiet study area. We've provided a mixture of desks with power sockets and big comfy chairs (also with power sockets) similar to those found elsewhere in the Morrell and in the Fairhurst; we know that these chairs are universally popular and fill up quickly each day.

If you're looking for a Library study space, remember that in term time we update the seating availability page every hour, so you can check where you're most likely to find a space:

When it's busy, please remember that Library space is shared space - if you're leaving the Library, take your belongings with you and leave the seat free for someone else to use:

We know, because you tell us, that being able to find a study space is important to you, and that's why we've created these extra spaces. Whether it's about seating, or another of our services, your feedback is important to us, so please keep sharing your thoughts:
