Preparation for Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level N5 Prerequisites

The course is specially designed to prepare and support students who wish to take JLPT at Level N5.

Duration

  • Teaching will be by one 1-hour online class per week and 1 hour of engaging guided activities to be completed weekly, at your leisure. All the relevant resources are on the VLE.

Aims 

The aims of the course are to: 

  • Consolidate student’s existing knowledge and skills in listening and reading 
  • Familiarize students with the two sections of JPLT – listening and reading
  • Equip students with test-taking techniques and strategies
  • Offer an opportunity to assess the progress of the students

Objectives 

By the end of the course, students will

  • Become more familiar with the JLPT test format
  • Understand how listening and reading are assessed
  • Be better equipped with listening and reading strategies 
  • Improve their accuracy in vocabulary, kanji and grammar 
  • Be able to recognise their strength and weakness in the two sections of JLPT

Evaluation and certification 

There is no formal evaluation but a certificate of attendance is available on request.
