Languages for Specific Academic Purposes

These bespoke courses are designed to develop discipline-specific language skills and cultural knowledge. The format of these courses is flexible, tailored to suit student academic needs. According to departments’ requirements, these courses may run as accredited modules (20 credits) in a degree programme (e.g. Italian for Art Historians, which may be taken by History of Art students in Year 1), or as non-accredited courses, which may be taken alongside your degree. LSAP courses run subject to demand and staff availability and therefore course offerings may vary from year to year.

Students (both undergraduate and postgraduate) and members of staff interested in discussing new bespoke language courses should contact us at lfa@york.ac.uk .
