Biography

Charlotte Ellis
BA (Oxon) BCL (European and Comparative Law), Barrister (non-practising)

I am a Senior Lecturer at Northumbria University but have been teaching on the Obligations 1 and 2 modules at York Law School for a number of years. I joined Northumbria Law School in 2008 from full time practice as a barrister at Keating Chambers, London. I was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2001 having studied law (BA Jurisprudence and BCL (European and Comparative Law)) at Wadham College, Oxford. At Keating Chambers I specialised in construction and engineering disputes, and acted in litigation, arbitration (international and domestic), adjudication, mediation and other forms of ADR. I also taught on the LLM programme at Queen Mary, University of London and trained as a mediator. I continued to practice as a Door Tenant of Keating Chambers from my base in the North East until December 2010.
