Martin Jones Appointed as Expert Advisor to Afican Human Rights Study Group.

YLS/CAHR Lecturer contributes to report on Freedom of Association and Peaceful Assembly

Martin Jones, Lecturer at YLS and the Centre for Applied Human Rights at the University of York, was recently invited to serve as an expert advisor to the African Commission's Human and Peoples' Rights' Study Group on Freedom of Association and Peaceful Assembly. The Study Group finalised its report on Freedom of Association and Peaceful Assembly and discussed the framework for future Guidelines on Freedom of Association and Peaceful Assembly in Accra from 20 to 21 March 2014.  The study group is chaired by Commissioner Reine Alapini-Gansou, Special Rapporteur on Human Rights Defenders in Africa.
