Profile

Biography

Paola Bolognesi joined the Languages for All team as a part-time Italian tutor in October 2014.

After graduating in Modern Languages at the University of Pisa, she taught for many years at a language school in Florence, teaching students of all ages and levels. She also ran basic literacy courses and provided support and tuition for immigrants with various needs, including adults in search of work and pupils getting to grips with the Italian school system.

In 2011 she completed a two-year diploma in the teaching of Italian as a Foreign Language, and started to work at the University for Foreigners of Siena. Here she taught general language and more subject-specific courses (architecture, Italian design, literature) to European Erasmus and Chinese students wishing to study in Italian universities.

She also has experience in preparing students for CILS (language certificate) exams at all levels, and works periodically as an examiner for the Centro CILS in Siena. She likes to keep abreast of developments in language teaching, and has recently finished a specialist course on e-learning.

Paola’s teaching approach is communicative in style, whilst providing a solid grammatical grounding and helping students to enrich their vocabulary and enhance their language skills.
